Suit Price in Pakistan: What a Good Suit Really Costs

Where the money goes in a suit, the honest price bands, and how to tell value from mark-up before you commit.

Ask about suit price in Pakistan and you will hear figures from twelve thousand rupees to three lakh. Both are real prices for very different garments. Here is what separates them, so you can decide what your money should buy.

The three price bands

Ready-made (PKR 12,000–45,000). Cut to a standard size, usually fused rather than canvassed, in polyester-rich blends. Fine for an occasional wear; it will look its age within a season and rarely fits the shoulder correctly.

Made to measure (PKR 45,000–120,000). A base pattern adjusted to your measurements. Better cloth, better fit, limited structural change. Good value for a first serious suit.

Bespoke (PKR 130,000 and above). A pattern drafted for you alone, a floating horsehair canvas, hand-finished lapels and buttonholes, and fittings before the suit is finished. At Daniel Bespoke a 2-piece starts From PKR 139,000 and a 3-piece starts From PKR 169,000.

What actually drives the price

Cloth is the single largest variable. Three and a half metres of imported Super 150s costs several times what a domestic blend costs, and the difference shows in drape and recovery. Construction is next: a canvassed jacket takes many more hours than a fused one, and it moulds to your chest over the first year instead of bubbling. Hand work — pick stitching, hand-set sleeves, hand-worked buttonholes — is time, and time is the honest part of any tailoring bill. Fittings cost the house money too, which is why the cheapest offers rarely include one.

Cost per wear beats sticker price

A PKR 30,000 ready-made suit worn twenty times before it loses shape costs PKR 1,500 a wear. A properly made suit worn weekly for six years costs a fraction of that, and it can be altered as your body changes because the seams carry inlay. Ask any tailor whether your suit can be let out later; the answer tells you a great deal about how it was made.

Questions to ask before you pay

Is the jacket fused, half-canvassed or full-canvassed? What is the mill and the Super number of the cloth? How many fittings are included? Is the pattern kept on file for future alterations? What is the delivery timeline, in writing? A house confident in its work answers all five without hesitation.

Budgeting for a wedding

Grooms in Pakistan usually need two garments — barat and walima — plus something wearable afterwards. A sensible plan is one occasion suit in a statement cloth and one navy or charcoal that returns to the office on Monday. Start eight to twelve weeks ahead; rushed commissions cost more and fit worse.

Shirts from From PKR 34,000 and trousers from From PKR 42,000 complete the wardrobe, and every 2-piece and 3-piece suit we make includes a tie, pocket square, socks and cufflinks at no extra cost.
